Eric has been showering.
He's seated at his desk now, dressed in jeans and a tank top, with wet hair and bare feet.

And he's thinking.

Mostly about what he is going to do next. When he gets back.

Pam always figured Bill to be a little off, but at this point she really doesn't care, so she shrugs off the sudden snarling undertone in Eric's voice and subject change.

"Okay...? Sure. Any particular reason why?"

"The Authority. If anything happens, I want you to be safe."
He looks at her.

"I've asked Jay to draw up some reinforcements of the security system at the house. Specifically the sleeping area."

[lazy_but_loyal]

He has a good point. The Authority might raid Fangtasia again, this time not looking for V, but for their missing judge, jury, and executioner.

"All right. So should Jay be paying another visit soon?"

[onceaviking]

"That's the plan. I told him it was a matter of some urgency, so he might be ready to install it before I get back."

He looks up at her.

"You should let him do that."

Just in case.

The idea of allowing someone from a completely different world into their home still rubs her the wrong way a little, even though Jay's been there before. Her reluctance is apparent, but she puts it aside because it's what Eric wants.

"Fine, I guess. After I get things cleaned up at Fangstasia, I'll come back here and see if I can find him and make arrangements."

He nods.
He knows she doesn't like it, but she'll do it and that is what matters.

"He wants to add a voice activated lock, only it'll react to the sound of fangs, yours and mine, instead of voices."

That is pretty clever.

She raises an eyebrow at that.

"Okay... Well. Gotta hand it to him, I've never heard of that one before. I'm impressed. I see why you keep him around."

[onceaviking]

His lips twitch a little.

"He is pretty useful. And how about you? Have you met any - useful people lately?"

[lazy_but_loyal]

She smirks.

"Well, you know me, I can be pretty picky. But I have met a couple of your friends -- Buffy? And the little monk? You've been talking about me."

She might even sound flattered, as she nudges his knee with hers.

"I have?" he says. "Yes, I probably have."
Nudging her right back.

"And friends is stretching it. But I do think that Buffy might very well prove to be interesting."

And Athelstan is - well, Athelstan.

Of course, she meant 'friends' with quotation marks.

"You haven't tasted her yet, have you?"

[onceaviking]

He shakes his head.

"She's a little reluctant. At least when it comes to me. Did you have better luck?"

[lazy_but_loyal]

"Me neither," she says, also with a shake of her head. "I caught her on a bartending shift, and she said she wasn't on tap. She's real cute."

[onceaviking]

"She is," he agrees.
"Bubbly."

[lazy_but_loyal]

"Very."

They'll have to talk again. She's very easy to sniff out.

"As for that monk, he was trying to figure out how to use a digital camera. I was bored so I helped him. It surprised me how not-an-asshole he was, for a religious person."

"Why did he have a digital camera?"
He sounds puzzled.

"And yes. He is pretty - atypical."

[lazy_but_loyal]

"I don't know," she says with a shrug. "He was just fucking around with it. It's going to take a while before he understands how to get the files off the camera, so I'm not concerned. I even let him take my picture."

He looks at her.
Smiling a little.

"You did? Was it a good picture?"

[lazy_but_loyal]

"Of course it was," she says with a vain little smirk. "I made sure of it. I'm not having shitty pictures of me floating around at the end of the universe."

[onceaviking]

"Of course you won't," he says with an answering smirk, getting up from the chair.

"I will have to ask him to show it to me."

He reaches over and pushes a lock of her hair behind her ear. It may very well have been out of place.

She follows him with her eyes when he rises, staying where she is, resting her hands on the edge of the desk.

"I already told him to."

Her hair always means to look the way it does. Except when Eric thinks it needs a little fixing.

She tilts her head ever so slightly against his touch like a preening cat.

His fingers move slowly down the length of her hair.

"Any other fascinating encounters?"

He is stalling. He knows he is. But he cannot think about being parted from her. And he cannot tell her of what he is bout to do. About that which fills him completely.

As much as she enjoys the attention, she knows it's sometimes his way of distracting himself from something he has to do. And it's not like she's in any hurry to return to what awaits them back home. But here they have all the time in the universe, so what's one more indulgence?

"Well, there was this one guy," she says, "boozy, loud, English. You know the type. He's on Security so I didn't give him too much of a hard time. Just for kicks I told him I didn't think he could get his handcuffs on me, but he wouldn't try. Not even after staring at my tits as much as he did. I think I scared him off. And I didn't even drop fang or anything."

[onceaviking]

"Would you have let him?" he asks, smiling a little.
It was probably - what's his face? Hunt? Hunt.

He can just picture him staring at Pam.

"Hell no, I would've clapped them on him before he had a chance," she retorts, smirking.

"His name's Gene Hunt. Ever met him?"
