For Athelstan

Eric has left the door ajar.

He is inside, seated in one of the low chairs, his bare feet resting on the wolf pelt in front of it.
Watching the door.

There's a carafe and one glass on the table.
The bed is turned down.

The light is dim.

"...nothing", he says sleepily, rousing enough to realise that he must have spoken. "Nothing important."

The warmth radiating from his own skin, blocked from escaping by Eric's body, makes the bed very cosy.

Eric rolls off and sits up.
The bed is a mess.

As is he.
And Athelstan.

He looks back at him, trying to gauge the effects of his blood.

Athelstan makes a wordless protesting sound as the cosy disappears, hypersensitive to the cold.

When he lifts his head to look at Eric, his pupils are dilated.

Eric reaches over and touches his face.
"You okay?"

He might have let him overdo it.
A bit.

[athelstanthescribe]

He tips his face into Eric's hand.

"Mm... yes."

Except for being stoned on vampire blood.

[onceaviking]

He holds his hand very still.
Then he slowly caresses Athelstan's face with his thumb.

"My blood is powerful," he murmurs. "It'll wear off."

[athelstanthescribe]

"Feels nice", he murmurs, butting Eric's hand like a cat.

(It would be a kindness if he's never told about this when he sobers up.)

Eric's lips twitches a little.
"You ought to wash."

He might even join him.

[athelstanthescribe]

"...yes. Your shower, and hot water."

He might not be able to walk straight. But he makes a determined effort anyway to begin.

"Yes,"
Eric murmurs, getting up from the bed.
He'll stay close. Just to make sure nobody's face gets bashed open.

[athelstanthescribe]

This is a good thing. Athelstan stumbles over his own feet a couple of times, but does manage to reach the bathroom unwounded.

A large, cool hand may have played a part.
Who can tell?

In the shower, Eric turns the jets on. And discreetly maneuvers Athelstan up against the wall.

He stays where he's put, under the jets, but slowly slides down the wall until he's sitting on the floor.

Eric begins to wash off, the blood turning the water pink.
His large hands move across his body. He obviously enjoys that.

[athelstanthescribe]

Athelstan watches him, eyes widening. And, eventually, manages to get himself up off the floor and to where Eric is, to touch him.

[onceaviking]

Eric has moved onto washing his hair, but pauses as Athelstan comes close.

[athelstanthescribe]

He stands next to him, reaching out a hand with little thought of anything but touching his skin.

The water washes over them both.

[onceaviking]

He lets him, standing still.
Huge, cool, wet.

[athelstanthescribe]

He moves around to stand in front of Eric, so much taller and stronger than him he has to look up.

"Your blood... is so powerful."

[onceaviking]

Athelstan has gotten a lot better at saying the right things to a vampire.
Eric practically purrs at this.
Looking at him with dark, hooded eyes.

[athelstanthescribe]

"I want more", he says quietly. "You have made me want more."

More blood. More sex. More whatever Eric will give him.

[onceaviking]

Eric's upper lip twitches.
"I don't want to hurt you," he murmurs, running the tips of his fingers down Athelstan's side.

"Then don't." He looks up at Eric not exactly with trust, but without fear. "But give me what you can, and what you will, and take the same."

Eric smiles, slowly, and then he takes hold of Athelstan's shoulders and turns him around, so he is pressed firmly against the wet tiles in the wall.
"Like this?"

Pressing against him.

The tiles are cold at his front, and Eric is cool at his back, and pressed between the two, he gasps with pleasure.

"Yes. Like that."
