Eric opens the door to his room and switches the light on.

His room is clean and neat and cool. A filled decanter and a glass on the small table, the bed turned down.
He steps aside to let Emcee in.

Emcee shrugs, his shoulders this time.

"He doesn't find me interesting, and I really don't want his attention anyway."

He finishes his glass of wine. The third? Or the fourth? He can't remember.

Eric looks over at him.

"That's probably smart of you," he says, slowly.

"He's - "

How to put it?

"Off."

[i_am_your_host]

"Well, if he doesn't find me interesting, he's certainly off, isn't he?" he says with a healthy balance of smugness and self-deprecation. It can be done.

He sets his empty glass down on the table and moves to get up.

"Oof."

And then he's just going to make his way across the room and invite himself into Eric's bed.

He could tell him no.

But it doesn't matter.
He shifts a little, making room.

As if Eric has ever told him no before.

Besides, Emcee is a little drunk and exhausted and still weirded out about changing so suddenly, Eric can't possibly send him away in his state.

He crawls onto the bed and sprawls out on his stomach, nestling his face in the pillow. He yawns deeply. Warmly.

Eric can do whatever the fuck he pleases.

And right now, he's in the mood for company in his bed.
Warm, breathing company.

He breathes.
In.
Out.

Feeling his body go still.

[i_am_your_host]

"It was a fun night, wasn't it?" Emcee murmurs half into the pillow, his eyes closed.

His own body grows heavy with the need to sleep, and Eric's bed is so comfortable.

[onceaviking]

There is a long silence.

Then Eric mumbles, "... yes."

He sounds drowsy.
Sleepy.

Human

[i_am_your_host]

Emcee hums a sigh and yawns again.

Eric sounds sleepy and human. Almost harmless and trusting.

Almost.

Emcee knows better.

Emcee knows better, but he also shifts closer to him. Sleeping next to a large cold body might not be the most comforting thing, but he's been doing it for a while now. And it feels familiar. Almost safe.

Almost.

You don't feed where you sleep.
You don't fuck where you sleep.

You don't let humans sleep in your bed.

But it's just Emcee.

It's just for tonight.


Again.

Again.

As Emcee drifts away, his dreams are vivid but scattered.

Sex. With all manner of people. And one particular vampire. A good old-fashioned orgy. Lots of sweat and blood.

Sometimes he can't tell if he himself is a man or a woman. The sensations get blurred. Sometimes he can't even tell if he's participating or watching himself.

But there is always Eric. Hard and cold. In dreams, and in reality, as Emcee unconsciously moves even closer to him and presses against him.

Eric doesn't dream.

But there is warmth and he seeks it, moving as slowly as the stars across the sky, till his head is turned slightly toward Emcee, till one of his large hands is resting, heavily, on Emcee's hip.

In his dream, someone is holding Emcee down and fucking him. Or her. Either way it feels wonderful.

Emcee grows very warm under that cold hand. He doesn't stir, but his breathing becomes faster, deeper. His heat fills the gaps between him and Eric's body.

[onceaviking]

There's blood close by.
Eager, fast, luring blood.

Eric's lips pull back.

A heartbeat.
Eager.
Fast.

Luring.

His fangs come down.

[i_am_your_host]

The sound makes Emcee's eyelids flutter open with a slight start. And his heartbeat positively races as it takes him a few seconds to realize that he's not dreaming, and that Eric may or may not be fully awake.

So he stays absolutely still. And tries to calm his breathing.

Eric probably shouldn't even be up yet...

[onceaviking]

Eric shouldn't be awake yet at all.

And he isn't.

But his fingers (the ones resting against Emcee's warm skin) twitch a little. And he makes a small sound.

It's a hungry sound.

[i_am_your_host]

Oh, Eric and his hungry little sounds. They would be cute if he wasn't...Eric.

"Not yet, darling," Emcee murmurs, as if in a dream himself. "In a little while. When the sun goes down."

[onceaviking]

There's a whine.

Because he is hungry now.

But he doesn't move. Not apart from another,smaller twitch of his cold fingers.

[i_am_your_host]

Emcee would rather have him be hungry and awake.

But when Eric doesn't move, Emcee doesn't move either. He's as calm as he can possibly be.

Which is to say, he's still a little nervous that Eric might suddenly tear him apart, but for the most part, he doesn't think that will happen.

[onceaviking]

And it doesn't happen.

Eric grows completely still again, his head still somewhat turned towards Emcee, his fangs still down.

(They rest against his bottom lip, distorting the shape of his lips a little).

Maybe he dreams then. A little.

About being cautioned against the sun.
About feeding.
About touches.
About cold earth and rain and the scent of things slowly rotting in the ground.
About sunsets.

Emcee didn't know vampires could sleep with their fangs down. But then again, he supposes that it is their most natural state.

He eventually falls asleep again as well, though not as deeply as before. He's still aware of Eric's hand on his hip. Still aware of the coolness of his body, of his presence.

The sun is low in the sky.

[onceaviking]

The sun dips just below the horizon.

Eric awakens.

There's a warm body next to his. Breathing.
His fangs are down but his lips and chin are dry.

He slowly turns over, facing Emcee fully.

[i_am_your_host]

When Eric moves to turn over, Emcee is slowly pulled out of his slumber. He shifts, stretching a little, and sighs deeply as he opens his eyes.

The first thing he sees is Eric's mouth. He's startled a little, but not much. Waking up to pointy teeth isn't easy.

And if you are smart, it never will be.

Eric blinks. Slowly.

[i_am_your_host]

The slow blink is just a bit creepy. Like a doll with plastic eyes in a perfectly still face.

The corner of Emcee's lips twitches.

"Still hungry?" he murmurs as he shifts closer.
