[onceaviking]

He knows there is someone in the room before he is properly awake.

Luckily for Jay, it does register that he knows the intruder before he does anything more than land on him and grab his arms.
Snarling.

From supine position to practically in Jay's lap in a blink of an eye.

He relaxes forcibly and let's go of Jay's arms.
He's cold and his eyes are more red rimmed than usual.

He closes them.
"You shouldn't do that," he says.

It takes an act of will not to react to as Eric jumps him. He looks up into Eric's eyes, unmoving as the vampire relaxes. "You were pretty sick last night. I needed to make sure you were okay."

He nods to the bottles of true blood. "I'm guessing from how much you were bleeding last nigh, you might need a top up."

[onceaviking]

Eric moves back to the bed and sits down on the edge, running a hand over his face.

"I could have killed you," he says. And then, "Yes. Please."
To the fake blood. Synthetic. Whatever.

He wants to gorge himself on Jay, but the bottles will definitely be a safer option.

He holds out a hand. It looks steady enough, but it feels like it's trembling. It sets him on edge.

[runningred]

"Yeah, but you could have died." He hands over the bottle,having flavoured it with a little of his own blood to make it less gross. "You were pretty messed up last night."

[onceaviking]

Eric takes a swig and smiles a little against the mouth of the bottle as he tastes Jay's blood.

"Thank you.,

He drinks in silence, emptying first one then two bottles. The he licks his lips and looks at Jay.

"Did I make you nervous?"

[runningred]

Jay shrugs. "No worries, and yeah. When you started to bleed out of the eyes I started to worry in a big way." He rolls up his sleeve and offers it Eric, figure he's taken the edge off now.

[onceaviking]

"The bleeds. It looks worse than it is," Eric murmurs as he dips his head and bites into Jay's wrist, holding it with one hand.

His fingers tremble a little against Jay's skin.


There are still small flakes of blood on his skin, showing where the blood has trailed down yesterday, despite Jay's efforts at cleaning him up. A little in the corners of his mouth too. Vide cue of last night's meal. Or meals.

[runningred]

"Looked pretty damn awful." Jay watches Eric very carefully. "Eric, are you okay to do this or do you want me to get you some more bottled stuff?" Chances are it's too late to be asking but he feels he should.

He strokes Eric's shoulder very gently as he feeds, hoping it'll help him feel calmer.

[onceaviking]

Eric keeps feeding, but he drinks slowly and controlled, his eyes drifting shut as he does so.

Everything tastes wrong, but Jay's blood is still miles away from the Tru Blood.

He stops feeding and rests his lips against Jay's skin. Eyes closed.
He looks tired. Worn.


And he is worried. He dimly remembers Sunshine. Stretching out her hand to him.
That has got to be something he's dreamt. It makes no sense. No sense at all.

Jay keeps supporting him, even when he stops feeding. He rubs Eric's shoulders, his voice low. "Do you want to talk about it?"

[onceaviking]

Eric sits up, letting go of Jay's wrist and snorting a laugh.

"There's nothing to talk about. I fed from a fairy. It comes with some - possible downsides. I knew that."

He runs a hand through his hair.

"They're very hard to resist. Fairies."

[runningred]

Jay takes his wrist back and wraps it up again, not asking Eric to close the wound in his state. "Fairy blood is a drug to vampires? You were pretty badly tripped out when I found you."

He looks at Eric, serious and a little bit worries. "Eric, when I found you this morning, you mentioned a girl. Do you remember anything about that?"

[onceaviking]

"In a way. Fairies normally stay clear of us, but I've met this one here before. He likes getting close."

Even the suggestive purr is sounding a little weak this evening.

He gets up and starts undressing. He needs a shower.

"Why?"
He doesn't seem inclined to answer.

[runningred]

"Bit of a tease, hey?" Jay jokes warmly, standing up as Eric does.

"Just worried, that's all. You were pretty badly out of it this morning..." he bites his lip, clearly worried for Eric's safety. "If something happened, I'd rather get on top of it before security finds out."

[onceaviking]

Eric throws his t-shirt on the floor, toes off his boots, and peels off his jeans. They're crusty with blood.

"Nothing happened."
Clearly dismissive. And judging from the set of his shoulders, not entirely truthful either.

Because it does not make sense that Sunshine helped him.
And he is now indebted to her. Beholden. He does not like that.
And he is very disinclined to talk about it.

[runningred]

"Alright. As long as it's not going to be an issue." He cocks his head. "Do you want company in the shower?"

[onceaviking]

Eric grunts an affirmative and heads into the shower without looking back.

He turns on the sorry, closes his eyes, and then he asks, "Did you just offer to cover up my tracks?"
He sounds amused. He also sounds more like himself.

It's amazing what a shower can do,

Jay strips off and follows Eric, admiring the shower. Yeah, it's more impressive than his.

"Not cover your tracks, just...you know, get ahead of any issues. You were pretty messed up. No-one could say you were exactly in control of yours actions."

[onceaviking]

Eric snorts and starts washing. The traces of blood turns the water pink as it runs down his legs.

After a little while, he pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs.

"Someone, a girl, who is not at all fond of me, found me outside. She helped me to the door. That worries me. I have no reason to trust her. "

The movement of his hands turn almost aggressive as he scrubs at a particularly stubborn spot.

He was weak. In her hands. That grates him as much as the debt.

[runningred]

"Slow down." Jay growls, grabbing a cloth and starts cleaning Eric's back gently. "You're still a mess. Coming down is never easy."

"She got you in, away from the dawn. That's a good thing." Jay was desperately worried Eric might have fed on her. "Well, I'm glad you got in safe. I would hate to have to tell Pam if something happened to you. She'd killed me, without hesitation."

[onceaviking]

Eric leans against the wall and lets Jay wash his back.
He closes his eyes.

"I don't trust her," he repeats. "And she would. Pam."

She'd been the one he'd been thinking of, when he realized that he might not be able to get away from the sun.

It's nice, standing here. The water is soothing. Being washed.
Relaxing. He never relaxes. He can't. Not at home. He shouldn't here either. But he can't really drag himself up to care.

His body feels odd. Distant. The sounds too.

Maybe he's not quite over the fairy blood yet.

[runningred]

"Yeah, I know. But I'd have to find some way to get word to her." As much as Jay isn't sure he even likes Pam, he'd still feel responsible for letting her know if something happened to Eric.

Jay shifts from washing to massaging and back again as he works his way over Eric's back. Just as Eric massaged his neck when he was hung-over.

[onceaviking]

Eric sighs and relaxes even more into the touch.

It's disconcertingly nice.

"I should see about getting a will drawn up," he mutters. "I keep putting it off." He likely will for some time yet. But he knows he should. He wants to make sure she is taken care of. Pam.

"Pam doesn't like anyone who breathes. You shouldn't feel singled out," he murmurs. He sounds a little hazy again. But relaxed.

[runningred]

"I should too but seeing I'm still on record as being dead it could be kinda tricky." Jay chuckles, finding the knots under Eric's shoulders, easing them loose with steady hands.

He laughs again, warmly as he leans in to press a kiss to Eric's neck. "So I shouldn't take it personally, it's just that I'm human?"

[onceaviking]

"The laws are being changed where I am to make it possible for us to do things like that," Eric murmurs. "And Pam is very equal opportunity. She despises all of you."

He draws in a breath at the kiss.

It makes that part of his skin feel very much there.

It's nice.

[runningred]

"I have some work to be, shifting assets around and into new aliases. Safest way to manage everything I guess." Not that he has anyone to leave his things too.

Jay laughs again and leans in to kiss his skin again, moving his hands lower down Eric's back to get to the knots either side of his spine. "At least she's honest about it, I guess."
