He knows there is someone in the room before he is properly awake.

Luckily for Jay, it does register that he knows the intruder before he does anything more than land on him and grab his arms.
Snarling.

From supine position to practically in Jay's lap in a blink of an eye.

He relaxes forcibly and let's go of Jay's arms.
He's cold and his eyes are more red rimmed than usual.

He closes them.
"You shouldn't do that," he says.

"Yeah, I know. But I'd have to find some way to get word to her." As much as Jay isn't sure he even likes Pam, he'd still feel responsible for letting her know if something happened to Eric.

Jay shifts from washing to massaging and back again as he works his way over Eric's back. Just as Eric massaged his neck when he was hung-over.

Eric sighs and relaxes even more into the touch.

It's disconcertingly nice.

"I should see about getting a will drawn up," he mutters. "I keep putting it off." He likely will for some time yet. But he knows he should. He wants to make sure she is taken care of. Pam.

"Pam doesn't like anyone who breathes. You shouldn't feel singled out," he murmurs. He sounds a little hazy again. But relaxed.

"I should too but seeing I'm still on record as being dead it could be kinda tricky." Jay chuckles, finding the knots under Eric's shoulders, easing them loose with steady hands.

He laughs again, warmly as he leans in to press a kiss to Eric's neck. "So I shouldn't take it personally, it's just that I'm human?"

"The laws are being changed where I am to make it possible for us to do things like that," Eric murmurs. "And Pam is very equal opportunity. She despises all of you."

He draws in a breath at the kiss.

It makes that part of his skin feel very much there.

It's nice.

[runningred]

"I have some work to be, shifting assets around and into new aliases. Safest way to manage everything I guess." Not that he has anyone to leave his things too.

Jay laughs again and leans in to kiss his skin again, moving his hands lower down Eric's back to get to the knots either side of his spine. "At least she's honest about it, I guess."

He shudders a little, his body letting go of the last tension built up from last night .
"She is. She's always been."

As if he didn't have enough on his mind with Compton's sudden interest in human girls. Now he has to worry about Sunshine as well.

He sighs, moving into Jay's touch.

Jay moves slowly into Eric's lower back, still kissing his neck and shoulders. "I guess it helps to have constants in the world."

[onceaviking]

"Yes. I do like change though ."
The ones who don't tend to go crazy after a while.

He tips his his head back, arching his back.
"And fairies."

Even if the ones here might be a little too dangerous. Then again, why shy from danger?

Jay hits a sore spot and he groans, a deep, rumbling sound.

[runningred]

Jay purrs softly and works the spot softly, increasing the pressure as he feels the muscles relax slowly. "Terribly attracted to beautiful and dangerous things." He sucks ever so lightly on the side of Eric's neck. "You're as bad as me."

[onceaviking]

Eric looks back at him over his shoulder.
"I am?"

His eyes are looking a little less red rimmed now and his skin is no longer ice cold.
But his fangs are still down.

"You thought I'd killed someone, didn't you?"

[runningred]

"When it comes to chasing things that are bad for you, yes."

Jay looks Eric in the eye, serious but unflinching. "Eric, I trust your control. I wouldn't have been here this evening if I didn't. You were drugged and very sick when I found you this morning. I was worried something might have happened while your judgement was impaired. I know what that's like."

[onceaviking]

"The bleeds really look worse than they are, Jay," Eric insists. "It's just what happens if we stay awake after sunrise. And I didn't lay a hand on her. Despite the fact that she is someone I would very much like to kill."

Not the absolute truth perhaps, but close enough.

[runningred]

"They looked pretty damn wretched to me."

Jay nods and cups Eric's cheek gently. "I'm glad. I'd hate to say goodbye to you."

He works his way back up the massage the base of Eric's skull. "Out of curiosity, was it anyone I'd know?"

[onceaviking]

"They're painful and unpleasant, that is true," Eric agrees. "And they can get worse if we stay awake.."

He closes his eyes again and holds still, enjoying the touch. More than he ought to.

Fucking fairy.

"I don't know who you know, Jay," he replies. "A little bitch who tends to enjoy telling me how much she'd like to see me dead. Because I am disgusting and wrong and what have you."

He cranes his neck.

"Calls herself Sunshine." Sounding distinctly sarcastic.

[runningred]

"Good thing I found you and got you to bed then." Jay teases, kissing some more as his hands still move. Tactile creature that he is.

Jay can't help but chuckle, resting his cheek against Eric's shoulder. "Rae. Why am I not shocked you two can't stand each other. At least I don't have to worry about you having hurt her. If it came down to it between the two of you, I honestly wouldn't know who to put money on. Lets make sure it doesn't come to that."

Eric stiffens.

His immediate thought is to remove Jay from his room by force and make sure he never enters again.

It takes a conscious effort to keep himself from following through. Paranoid vampires live the longest. And he generally doesn't make a habit of trusting friends of his enemies.
But it's Jay. He hasn't had reason to distrust him yet.

He forces himself to relax. And when he speaks, his voice is almost casual, " I am guessing you haven't told her that you associate with vampires?"

Jay drops his hands, stepping back as he feels Eric tense up. "No, I haven't. And have no reason to. It's none of her business who I associate with. She's a friend and I like her but the issues of her world are hers. Just as my choices are mine." He's very firm on that.

[onceaviking]

Eric turns and looks at him.

Then he turns the water off. "Wise choice," he says."You'd never hear the end of it."

He looks at Jay, head tilted a little.
"Do you ...?" One eyebrow lifted.

[runningred]

"From either of you by the sound of it." Jay grabs a towel, tossing another at Eric.

Jay cocks an eyebrow back at him. "Do I...what? Do I shag Rae, is that what you're asking me? And if I was, would it be any of your damn business either?" He stands with his hands on his hips, his expression challenging.

[onceaviking]

Eric grabs the towel and starts drying off.

"Not at all. I am merely curious. I bet she's tight."
Eric, the King of inappropriate thoughts. About everyone.

"And you didn't answer."

[runningred]

"She's in a committed relationship. I may be a fuck-up in some respects but I'm not that kind of guy." Jay's offended that someone would think he is. He heads into the other room in search of his clothes.

[onceaviking]

Eric shrugs, following him."how was I supposed to know that? All I have been told is that she can rip my heart out with her bare hands and that she sincerely hopes that I will do something that will give her an excuse. We didn't get around to discussing marital status."

He dries his hair.
"And if she wants give her boyfriend horns, wouldn't that be her choice?"
As in, why would a committed relationship be a problem?
There are many thing Eric doesn't quite get.

Jay shrugs, changing the subject because despite being comfortable killing people, messing up a happy relationship is against his personal code.

"I brought you the plans and stuff for your security system." He nods to the box on the bench as he pulls his jeans on.

Eric drops the towel and walks over to the bench to take a look.

Still naked.

He goes through the contents very meticulously, reading through the lists and studying the diagrams in depth.

Apart from the messy bed and the clothes and towel on the floor, his room is neat. Almost bare.
The small ship is standing on desk, next to a shut off laptop.

Once he has read through the overhead sheet, he looks back at Jay. "You're short changing yourself," he says. "Add another 15% to your labour costs and it's a deal."

Jay tries not to be smug about the little boat being one of the only decorations in Eric's room. Other than Eric himself.

He can't help but laugh a little. "No wonder you let Pam run the bar. You're an awful business man." He leans over and looks at the paperwork. "Yeah, alright. Deal. I can have the rest of the parts manufactured by the end of the week so let me know when you're ready for me to come and install it."
