 Eric leads Orpheus' down toward the lake, a cool hand on the small of his back. They end up between tall trees, Eric looks up one trunk and then down at Orpheus.

"We go up there," he says. "It is nice and private and I will hear it should anybody come."

It's hard to make out his features in the dark.

Orpheus lifts his head a bit to take a sip. He hadn't been expecting that consideration, whatever the motivation.

Eric watches him sip water silently. A huge, silent creature with bright blue eyes and a blood-spattered face.

[golden_lyre]

After he's drunk what he can manage, Orpheus lays back again, looking curiously up at Eric.

"You can stay, if you'd like," he mumbles. It seems only polite.

[onceaviking]

"I should wash," Eric says and gets up. "Can I do it here?"

He has a feeling that going downstairs looking gory might upset someone.

[golden_lyre]

"Yeah, of course," Orpheus answers. It's going to be a while before he feels up to washing himself.

[onceaviking]

Eric disappears into the bathroom.

There are sounds of him undressing and then the water is turned on in the shower.

Eric likes this idea. If it is ever invented in his world, he will want two.

Steam starts to build.

He'll be a while.

Orpheus is in no condition to do anything other than lay where he is at the moment. Long before Eric finishes, he's out.

It's a very long shower.

When Eric finally appears, damp and clean and dressed, he is not surprised to see, that Orpheus is out cold. He walks over to the bed and checks his pulse, two cool fingers pressed against his neck.

He could just close his eyes and listen, but old habits die hard.

Orpheus shifts at the touch, eyes blinking open slowly.

[onceaviking]

"You are alive," Eric informs him in a level tone.

"Remember to eat."

A healthy Orpheus is more blood for him after all. And he rather likes the Greek. As much as he likes any human. He is certainly an uncomplicated dinner companion. As it were.

[golden_lyre]

"Damn," Orpheus mumbles. It's an ingrained response.

"Yeah, I'll get on that."

[onceaviking]

Eric runs his hand up the side of Orpheus' face. It briefly ends up in his hair.

"We must do this again," he says. "It was very - enjoyable."

[golden_lyre]

"Yeah, we should," Orpheus agrees, smiling faintly.

[onceaviking]

This time he leaves like a regular person, walking out of the room and closing the door behind him.

A room he now has access to. That is is good.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus watches him go, ignoring that feeling of unease he's been getting more and more lately.
