Eric walks toward the lake at a steady pace, a tall and pale presence in the darkness. He is very quiet, the way you are when you are sure footed. And do not breathe.
Once they reach a small groove, he turns. His eyes are glittering.
"This place is good," he says, quietly.
"We'll be sheltered from people passing by. And I happen to like trees."
