Eric's room - for Athelstan

Eric's room is neat and bare.
He hadn't been expecting to return.

He opens the door and lets Athelstan in. Then he switches on the bedside lamp and turns to look at him.

The closeness of death will do that too you. Make you seek out life in its rawest form.
Eric is hard and heavy on top of him, making small, growly, eager noises as he keeps up the relentless pace.

Athelstan does his best to keep up, even after he climaxes himself, not caring for anything other than to live in the moment while it lasts.

And a while later, Eric comes as well.
The blood soaks the bedding, as his movements still, hiding his sticky face against Athelstan's just as sticky neck.

Athelstan rests a hand on the back of Eric's neck, lying quietly as he recovers his energy, paying no attention to the mess.

He is trembling. It's so faint, it's easy to miss, and he is doing his very best to ignore it himself.

It's just sex. He's just keyed up because of - everything.

Of course it is. But Athelstan knows how it feels to be sure you were going to die, and then...

"How is Pam?" he asks quietly.

Eric breathes slowly against Athelstan's neck. And then he sits up, pulling out and moving away in the same smooth movement.

Running his hands through his hair.

"She's fine," he says. "She's - she was very brave and she did as I told her to. She'll be fine."

He nods, watching Eric without moving.

"She's strong."

"She is," he agrees, looking away.

[athelstanthescribe]

"What will you do now? When you've dealt with Edgington?"

Probably go back to his life, he hopes, but he wants to hear it.

[onceaviking]

"I intend," Eric says, slowly, "to convince Sookie Stackhouse that she will only be happy once she has been fucked by me."

He gives Athelstan a small grin.

He knows what is expected of him.

Athelstan laughs aloud.

"Only once? Surely you wouldn't be so cruel."

"I'll convince her to do it once, she'll have to convince me to keep it up," Eric replies with a small grin.

[athelstanthescribe]

"Ah, I see." He flops back against the bed, amused. "I'm sure she will."

[onceaviking]

"Yeah?"

He runs his hands through his hair again.
Pleased.

[athelstanthescribe]

"If you can convince her to try it once. Presumably she knows what it's like to be fed on."

[onceaviking]

"She does. Her lover is obviously feeding in her."

[athelstanthescribe]

"Her lover who may not be so for much longer?"

[onceaviking]

"That one, yes. She is not as enamoured with him as she once was. She is beginning to see him for what he is."

Even if she mostly seemed to be fed up with the both of them.

[athelstanthescribe]

"Then perhaps you can use it to slip into his place. Remind her of that pleasure."

[onceaviking]

"She will miss it," he agrees.
"You do. Humans."

[athelstanthescribe]

"Yes", he agrees. "It's a thing only a vampire can give."

[onceaviking]

Eric looks at him. Then he says," We don't give Athelstan. We take."

[athelstanthescribe]

He waves a hand.

"But not without something in it for the... donor. Even if it's a side effect."

[onceaviking]

"That is true," Eric agrees.
